My interest in nature and animals started when I was a little kid. After growing up fishing and camping, I was taught to love and respect nature and the world we live in. My Dad would take me and my brothers on many fishing trips on the Shenandoah River, it was always the highlight of our summers. I never had much of a camera growing up but always wished I could photograph nature and the outside world. I was obsessed with watching animal shows like Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom and still to this day enjoy shows about nature, Africa or any wildlife more than anything else.

I didn’t get serious about photography and purchase a good camera until I was in my late 20’s. I started out doing mostly landscapes on long journeys on my motorcycle with several trips to the Coast of Maine. On these journeys, I would see many amazing animals and birds of prey that I wanted to photograph but I didn’t have the right gear to make it happen. Today I have upgraded my gear and now wildlife and nature photography has become a passion of mine. My trip of a lifetime occurred in August of 2017: 10 days on safari in South Africa. Those 10 days were spent in Kruger National Park photographing all the Big 5 along with many other mammals and birds of prey. I also have begun learning about and doing Astro-Photography shooting the Milky Way at many different locations. I traveled to several different locations from the beach to the mountains to South Africa to shoot the Milky Way in 2017.

Words can’t describe I how much I love nature & wildlife photography. It gets me out of this fast past stressful world we live in and closer to nature and the things I love. With my photography, I hope I can inspire current and future generations to get out and explore nature and to respect and appreciate of our beautiful world.
